Well, as Ryan pointed out, it looks like LJ import works now. Sorta. No Lj-Cuts. No Filtered entries. And, curiously, it doesn't remember your blog's URL even though you've already told Vox where my blog is in my account settings.
seems vox/lj are integrated in one direction, at least - I can post to vox and have it cross-post to LJ. Progress! Now if I could just have it go the other direction. I love my XJournal client too much to go to the web to post. Xjournal combined with Quicksilver - click once, typeone letter, return, type post, enter and it's online. Productivity!
A homeless man in Detroit is being rewarded for his kindness after returning some $21,000 in US Bonds he found in the trash. The owner of the bonds reciprocated with a $100 reward. People were so offended with the response they started compensating the man:
"So they took action: A Belleville man sent him eight trash bags full of bottle returns and a bowl of coins. Three people pledged a combined $2,500. By the end of the day, two businessmen had given Moore $1,200, a shopping spree at a men's clothing store and a lead on a job."
If only this story spread virally through the bum population and a ushered in a new era of reciprocal generosity between bums and non-bums worldwide.
One of the fine side-effects of working in the south bay is the abundance of hotel eating establishments. Heemin and I joined some eager Great Americans at IHOP for breakfast before their amusement parking.
"You just can't get proper biscuits and gravy on the east coast," said a salivating Heemin, "you need to be in the south... or the west."
Something strange was going on in Heemin's GI afterwards. I guess the person also needs to be from the south or the west.
Today is "spare the air day" in the bay area with most public transit being free (BART, Muni, etc.). Which means traffic on the 101 should be light thanks to all of the thoughtful people who saw Al Gore's movie and
decided they really DO want to make a difference, right?
Wrong. Worst commute in weeks. The east bay is invisible behind a dense cloud of smog. Yay California!
So while we were walking back from the Giants game last night, we overheard a girl 2.5 sheets to the wind say, "oh, I had some Irish nachos earlier, so I'm not hungry."
Irish nachos?! I lived in Boston for 6 years and have never come across such a blatently offensive sounding food. I was about to do some research but since I work for Yahoo! now I just ask the oracle...

This is the best night of my life. If only the ball park wasn't a pepto bismal ad, maybe I would not be salivating so much. Pretzles are just German saltines, right?
After almost two weeks recovery time from some sort of European Avian Flu obtained in Germany, I had a great idea: why not throw away another weekend and lose some weight! Nothing like a saltine and clear-broth diet to clean out the system and drop a few pounds.
I don't want to name the restaurant because I really like it and it's Japanese and on Folsom St. and these are its Yelp reviews. Anyway, I think I'll stick to the whiskey from now on.
